Kerataconus

Well I finally had my appointment today with the Eye Specialist since my Optometrist wanted me to see one in order to get a Corneal Topography (X-ray of the eye).
So of course they do usual such as examine my eyes and had me read the Snellen Eye chart. Then I finally got my eyes scanned and was told I do indeed have a mild form of kerataconus, which is when your corneal takes on more of the shape of a football. The MD stated it was pretty mild since I still was able to have my eyes corrected to 20/20 vision so there is no need for me to really have hard contacts and may continue with soft ones. (And DEFINITELY no need for surgery!)
So now I have to make another appointment with my Optometrist so she can go over their report and FINALLY give me my new prescription for contacts.
3D/4D Ultrasound

Had my last 3D/4D Ultrasound of my little one. I was exactly 33 weeks. Was shocking because usually after 32 weeks it gets harder to photograph them in 3D but he actually cooperated. He even maneuvered his little feet to his mouth.

Contractions?
Posted on February 10th, 2010 at 8:00 pm by Ebony

So on February 8th I was just browsing at DD’s Discount store when I started noticing some Braxton Hicks. No big deal as this is very common in my stage of pregnancy and I have felt 1 or 2 before.
Yet, I started noticing 3 became 4 and 4 became 6. Did a count for the hour and I had over 10 contractions! Uh-Oh. So called the Doc and was told to go to Triage.
Got there and was surprised there were only about 3-4 people ahead of me so was able to get called into an exam room within 30-40 minutes. Got hooked up to the monitors and was definitely contracting a little too frequently. Had the Residents check me and was told I was 3cm/60%/High. Great so I need to be admitted for observation. (Ultrasound also showed baby is at least over 4lbs now).
So IV was started, got a bolus of some Lactated Ringers, got a dose of Ampicillin in, Vistaril pills, a steroid shot to help with babies lungs and the best part…. I was started on Magnesium Sulfate! (And yes it does make you feel hot in the beginning!).
So I enjoyed two wonderful nights on the Antepartum unit until my contractions dwindled down. My cervical check remained unchanged thank goodness! So I was able to return home but on bedrest on the 10th. Also was sent home on Vistaril pills I can take if I start contracting a little too often again. So no work for me at the moment and hopefully this little boy can cook a little longer. Anything after 36 weeks is game for me though!

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who recently urged that radio host Don Imus be fired for making a racially insensitive remark, said in a debate that “those who really believe in God will defeat” Republican Mitt Romney for the White House.
